I’ve edited and managed entire global websites—independently or collaboratively—as well as live blogs, mobile applications, newsletters, push notifications, social media, live video streams, and online communities, garnering millions of visitors and engagement from across the US and around the world.

Most recently, I was part of a Middle East-based newspaper’s Washington bureau and its global platforms team—covering the most pivotal stories in the world since 2021 and updating its multiple online editions.

Prior to my time at The National, I managed Quartz’s global economy news website, app, and online community; coordinated a wide range of digital production tasks and breaking news through 4.5 hours of live television for TEGNA’s Daily Blast Live that aired in 30+ US markets and on streaming platforms; and worked as a news producer for USA Today’s College vertical.

I’ve also worked with CNN, Voice of America, Courier Newsroom, The Atlantic, The Daily Dot, and other publications as a freelancer or various professional capacities. And I’ve consulted small businesses, non-governmental organizations, and individual clients on communications strategy, content distribution, and social media.

Journalistically, I’ve been lucky to cover some of the biggest stories in the US, Middle East, and globally in the last decade, touching upon politics, conflict, public health, legal cases, business, and technology. I’ve reported on elections, protests, and American higher education. I’ve curated and verified fast-moving developments such as mass shootings, extreme weather, violent attacks, and coups.

My freelance reporting and news curation favored by many followers has been featured in articles at the New York Times, NBC News, BuzzFeed News, the Huffington Post, Gothamist, and other publications..

Through in-depth features and news packages, I’ve covered the COVID-19 pandemic and other health threats, pro-Palestine student protests, global migration, human rights issues and humanitarian crises, and accessibility for deaf people.

As a deaf individual with a cochlear implant, I’ve spoken about accessibility in media and physical spaces. In 2020, my brother and I launched the online resource, AccessibleMasks.org, to meet inclusion needs through the pandemic.

I traveled to Nepal in 2015 as part of a humanitarian aid and PTSD-relief trip with a small New York-based NGO months after an earthquake in the country, visiting a refugee camp and a remote mountain village, among other communities in need.

For professional development, I’ve attended multiple Online News Association conferences. I’ve also spoken at several AG Bell Association gatherings about my lived experience as a deaf person.

And I’ve worked as a New York poll worker in US elections.

Academically, I graduated from Pace University New York with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication arts in 2014, along with additional business and political science courses.

I received an excellence award for a 2013 paper I wrote on how the Trans Pacific Partnership could threaten American democracy and free speech.

At Pace University’s Lower Manhattan campus, I worked as a resident advisor within the freshman community for three years—including as emergency response and a resource through the duration of Hurricane Sandy on campus.

Also academically, after Pace University, I studied international human rights law through an online course supplied by Universite de Louvain.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, I’m a New Englander through and through. Since attending college in New York’s Manhattan, I’ve lived in Boston, Denver, and Washington DC, as well as other spots in the New York metro area. I’ve also spent time in Montréal.

In my free time, I enjoy still following the news with off-hours curation of events I’m interested in and care about. You’ll find me reading articles and sharing updates.

Beyond the news, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, unplugging with reality television, exercising by swimming, and watching movies and documentaries (and logging them with the occasional review on Letterboxd!)

Some random fun facts about me: I love to nerd out about public transportation and facts behind big, major events. I’m a huge fan of coffee and good pizza. I can’t deny a Hallmark movie (I’ve written about it!) And I’ve spent years performing hip-hop and modern dance. I’ve even been part of a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest choreographed dance.

As a city person, I like to stop by cherished spots, be by the waterfront, and explore neighborhoods. I love to try new cafés and restaurants, visit museums, browse bookstores, or sift through a vintage clothing shop rack. Know of a good café to try?
