I’ve covered many of the biggest news events over the last twelve years, writing about complex, fast-moving, and important stories for readers in approachable formats.
I’ve reported on war and conflict, US politics, international affairs, human rights and humanitarian issues, global public health threats, American higher education, US legal developments, protest movements, technology, business and economy news.

I’ve reported on the ground at Occupy Wall Street gatherings, Black Lives Matter protests, US political campaign and election events, and American campus demonstrations. And even at a World Cup cricket match.
Most recently, I spoke with Donald Trump supporters lining up to enter a rally at New York City’s Madison Square Garden for an article at The National.

I visited both Columbia University and New York University campuses when the pro-Palestine student encampment protests were in full swing during the spring of 2024.
At The National, I was assigned to cover a World Cup cricket match along with a video producer colleague in Long Island, which brought about a humorous retrospective.
In 2020, I reported live on social media from several protest demonstrations in New York’s Brooklyn after the police killing of George Floyd.

I’ve also attended several Black Lives Matter protests in years prior, which also included a reported piece on hashtag activism with the Daily Dot.
I was there when an American flag was burned outside Trump Tower after the 2016 US election, and my photo was featured in New York Times coverage online.

At the beginning of my career, I spent time at the Occupy Wall Street encampment in Zuccotti Park of Lower Manhattan and attended many of its marches, gatherings, and protest demonstrations through the autumn of 2011.
I reported live on social media from the events, wrote for the Pace University school newspaper, and worked with local New York City publications like The Gothamist on coverage.
Through in-depth features and news packages, I’ve extensively written about the COVID-19 pandemic, anti-war student protests, global migration, human rights issues and humanitarian crises, and accessibility for deaf people.

Plus, My expertise and knowledge was featured among analysis by other journalists and experts.
I shared my analysis on what US president Joe Biden’s legacy would be in terms of public health as part of a wider review at The National.
In 2020, I discussed accessibility and inclusion issues for deaf people in the pandemic on a live YouTube show (captioned and with ASL transcription) hosted by global journalist Sree Sreenivasan.
And I was interviewed on a news podcast episode (transcript) about US election access, where I spoke on voting as a deaf person in 2020, and also my experience working as a poll worker on election day.

Beyond published articles, I’ve consistently curated global news events on social platforms, homepages, or live blogs.
I’ve covered it all, with live updates on protests to elections, coup attempts, terrorist attacks, mass shootings, and militia violence across every continent. I’ve extensively curated the Arab Spring movements and the violent government crackdowns, especially in Bahrain, Egypt, Libya, Syria, and Yemen.
Thousands have followed my news curation on multiple social media platforms, and my work has been featured in Twitter Moment articles, reaching millions of other viewers. US and global news organizations have also featured my curation with embeds or citations.
As a news curator at Quartz, I wrote short article summaries about anything related to the global economy, so I touched upon numerous topics and events for readers. The same work went for the flagship Daily Brief that was sent to half a million subscribers, as well as special edition newsletters on Covid and the UN General Assembly.

In recent years, I’ve curated developments for live blogs on Israel-Gaza, US elections, the fall of Syria’s Assad, the Western withdrawal from Afghanistan, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Covid pandemic, and the January 6 insurrection at The National.
I also organized my own live blogs on past protest movements and revolutions in my free time, including the Egyptian demonstrations that resulted in the fall of former president Mohamed Morsi in the summer of 2013. I set up my own live blog website and curated updates during Egyptian hours remotely from Washington at the time.
